Halloween Costumes I Sewed 2024

My son and I like to play Among Us together. I know some parents don't like the theme of a secret murderer but the characters are so cartoony and cute that it isn't a problem for me. Now that my son is 8 he is starting to be able to read the chat, which is another issue. But at least we play it together.

So in 2024 he said he wanted to be an Among Us astronaut for Halloween. He thought I was going to get one of those inflateable costumes but instead I created it from scratch.

The helmet is the most spectacular part. I followed this YouTube tutorial somewhat. I love that she used needlepoint mesh with marker on it to make the facemask. You can see through it but others don't see in. Amazing!

But what I'm also really pleased with is I sewed the whole jumpsuit.

I found this pattern on Etsy that is such a cool concept. It's a build your costume pattern so it's a base jump suit for different kid sizes and then it shows how you can customize it a ton.

In fact, I used the same pattern to make my daughter unicorn pajamas!

I feel so lucky that both my kids are proud to wear things I make for them and that when they have a Halloween vision I can bring it to life!
